D.I.Y Finger Food

We call this our D.I.Y. menu, for those of you who don’t want staff present at your function. Perhaps to keep your guests wondering how you managed to whip up such wonderful food, just like a real chef!

It works like this! The cold food is dished up onto platters, ready for you to serve and the hot food in boxes to be reheated as required. We can deliver to your chosen venue, with our instructions on how best to heat and serve the finished product, with extra serving platters if required. As always, we guarantee interesting, tempting food, made with only the freshest produce. We can advise on menu selection for your function, taking into account your guests’ tastes, the style and occasion of the event, special dietary needs, suitable quantities etc.

Pastries and Baked Items

  • Zucchini batons wrapped in smoked salmon and baked in filo
  • Lebanese lamb fingers – spiced lamb with pinenuts in filo pastry
  • Spanokopita – Greek filo pastries filled with feta cheese and spinach
  • Moroccan cigars – beef and fresh coriander filo rolls with hummus dipping sauce
  • Our own spiced cocktail sausage rolls served with sweet chilli sauce
  • Pumpkin and blue cheese party pies
  • Pies: Aussie pure beef, Beef burgundy, Beef and Guinness, Moroccan Lamb, Roast lamb and Vegetable, chicken leek and Swiss cheese, Korma Curry Vegetable, and Peking duck

  • Designer pizzettes – bite sized pizzas with various toppings on authentic pizza dough
  • Tuna and olive empanadas
  • Moroccan chicken filo bastilla pies
  • Baked polenta, sausage and olive fingers with sweet capsicum and tomato relish
  • Lamb, cauliflower and tahina filo triangles with yoghurt dipping sauce
  • Vegetarian chickpea and zucchini “sausage” rolls with tomato roasted vegetable chutney

Fried and Grilled Items

  • Indian vegetarian samosas with yoghurt, or mango chutney
  • Baby Vietnamese spring rolls with spiced plum sauce
  • Crunchy sesame chicken – bite size pieces of chicken breast marinated in Chinese wine, dipped in sesame seed batter and fried, served with spiced plum sauce
  • Crispy chicken and water chestnut wontons with sweet chilli sauce
  • Petit croque Monsieur – tiny rounds of toasted ham and cheese sandwiches with Dijon mustard – a French café favourite
  • Thai fish and green bean cakes with sweet chilli sauce

Steamed/Braised Items

  • Date, ginger and pork balls braised in spiced ginger and lemon sauce, on bamboo forks

Grilled/Barbequed Items

  • Baby chipolata sausages, wrapped in prosciutto ham, grilled and served with relishes
  • Chinese crab and pork balls with plum dipping sauce
  • Herbed chicken balls with spiced ginger sauce
  • Thai chicken and peanut balls served with sweet chilli sauce

Deluxe Items

These are some special favourites:

  • Peking duck – tiny pieces of Chinese roast duck served wrapped in a pancake with cucumber, spring onions and Hoisin sauces


  • Cocktail sandwich platters – ribbons, dainty points, and pinwheels
  • Crab and avocado pinwheel rolls
  • Savoury sconelets – spicy sconelets filled with avocado guacamole, cheese sconelets with herbed pate, dill sconelets with smoked trout
  • Smoked salmon crepe roulades
  • Avocado and smoked salmon crepe wedges
  • Thai fish cakes with chilli and basil, served with sweet chilli sauce
  • Polenta pots – little rounds of Parmesan flavoured polenta, filled with mascarpone cheese and garnished with prosciutto and basil
  • Caprese salad skewers – cherry tomato, baby mozzarella and basil drizzled with virgin olive oil
  • Pasta shells filled with feta cube, baby tomato wedge, black olive tapenade and fresh basil
  • Pumpernickel rounds topped with smoked trout and horseradish cream
  • Sushi rolls served with Japanese soy or wasabi mayonnaise
  • Chinese omelette wraps, filled with chicken, ham, chives and hoisin sauce

  • Tiny bagels filled with smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill
  • Prawn tartlets with mango mayonnaise
  • Dill crepe rolls filled with horseradish crème fraiche and smoked salmon
  • Fresh asparagus spears wrapped in fine herb crepes
  • Fresh asparagus, salmon and brie rolls
  • Prawns and sugar peas skewered together and served with mango and mint mayonnaise
  • Cucumber cups filled with Thai beef fillet salad


  • Fresh vegetable crudites with rouille – garlic and chilli mayonnaise – and vinaigrette dressing
  • Classic dips, such as tarama, tziki and hummus, served with home-made Lebanese bread crisps and/or fresh vegetable crudités
  • Thai avocado guacamole with corn chips
  • Coriander pesto with rice crackers and poppadums
